From Hanoi/Cat Ba: Lan Ha-Ha Long Bay Full Day Boat trip

Nous avons pu faire une visite très complète en pouvant admirer de magnifiques paysages ! Les deux guides parlaient très bien anglais et nous ont tout très bien expliqué. Je recommande cette journée d’expédition si vous voulez découvrir la baie de Lan Ha !

Me and my boyfriend went on this tour and it was amazing our guid ‘Tinh’ was great and the whole thing was an incredible experience. The food was also great. My only complaint is that when we were kayaking the guid picked a star fish out of the water and handed it around saying to just put it back soon. I didnt know then how bad this is for the star fish so more of a note for anyone in the future to not do this and it was done so casually and i didnt realise it was harming the starfish and can actually kill them to be taken out of the water or touched.

This was a very average experience. The scenery in the bay is beautiful, and that's about it. The only part to look forward to is one hour of kayaking. It would be better to figure out how to do this on your own. We were short on time and regretted spending an entire day just floating aimlessly. The guide was not very fluent in English. He also only seemed interested in catering to the needs of white tourists on the boat. We had requested an early return so that we could catch the last ferry back to Haiphong and we were misinformed about the options. Later the guide pretended like he had asked us, when in fact he hadn't. The costs of the drinks on board were also not stated upfront and later the guide and local staff proceeded to haggle with each other. We wasted a lot of time just floating around because some tourists were lazing on the beach. The whole thing could've been wrapped up by 3.30 pm. We returned at 4.45 and didn't even get to see the sunset. The food was average and vegetarian options were basic. There is no designated smoking area on the boat and we were subjected to passive smoking thanks to other tourists AND staff. There is one functional washroom which was not maintained at all. The staff turned of the lights in the pitch dark washroom sometime around afternoon and then pretended to not understand us. This tour is priced cheaper than other options available online, but perhaps for a reason. Would not recommend it.

The boat was spacious with a small group on board so it was very comfortable. Especially rowing through the cave, we passed through an area full of jellyfish, which was truly magical. The tour guide, a young boy, very smart, speaks very good English and has a good sense of humor. Lunch was good and we were impressed with the grilled oysters. 10/10
