Small-Group Cu Chi Tunnel Half-day Tour: Morning or Afternoon

After being picked up from our hotel, en-route to the tunnels, we were given a brief lesson about the history of the Vietnam war. Our guide, Slim Jim was charming, funny, and super knowledgeable--what a guy! On the way we took a small detour, stopping at a Lacquerware workshop where we received a private tour of the facility, met some of the artists, and got to see first-hand how the pieces are made by hand. At the end of the tour we were given the opportunity to purchase some Lacquerware, which we did! Once we got to the tunnels Jim showed us around, explaining their historical significance and how they fit into the wider context of the war. We got to see demonstrations of the various traps used by the soldiers and we even got to experience the tunnels themselves. Overall this was a great experience, and we couldn't have asked for a better guide.

Definitely an over rated tour. Although very interesting and our guide was excellent and spoke great English. To travel 2 hrs each way just to basically just crawl through a tunnel on your hands & knees. Seeing the traps & how they work was good but to me I'd have spent my money & time doing something else had I know a little more about this tour.

This was an awesome half day tour for a family. Our guide, Dana made it excellent. She was really knowledgeable, funny and answered all of our questions. We’re traveling with kids (ages 9 and 12) and Dana adapted content to suit them and engaged them. The only part that didn’t suit us was the shooting range, it was quite loud which the kids didn’t enjoy. Find some shade away from the noise.

This was great way to visit the tunnels. We had the pleasure of Stark as our guide and he was excellent. He was aware of different people in the group and made sure everyone was enjoying their day. He was ver informative and spoke good English.

We booked the morning experience and had a fantastic time with James our guide. His knowledge and experience was evident, and encouraged us to travel through the tunnels which is a moving experience we will never forget. We were picked up and returned from our accommodation. A must do in Ho Chi Minh City.
