Great experience, great guide, highly recommend
After being picked up from our hotel, en-route to the tunnels, we were given a brief lesson about the history of the Vietnam war. Our guide, Slim Jim was charming, funny, and super knowledgeable--what a guy!
On the way we took a small detour, stopping at a Lacquerware workshop where we received a private tour of the facility, met some of the artists, and got to see first-hand how the pieces are made by hand. At the end of the tour we were given the opportunity to purchase some Lacquerware, which we did!
Once we got to the tunnels Jim showed us around, explaining their historical significance and how they fit into the wider context of the war. We got to see demonstrations of the various traps used by the soldiers and we even got to experience the tunnels themselves.
Overall this was a great experience, and we couldn't have asked for a better guide.
